Chamber Choir Win at Marlow Festival
The Beaconsfield High School Chamber Choir, which was only formed a year ago, competed for the first time on the 24 November 2015 at the Marlow Festival. 24 girls from across the school competed in the festival singing The Water of Tyne (Trad. arr Michael Neaum) and This Little Babe (Benjamin Britten) at All Saints Church, Marlow. The girls sang with incredible passion and commitment, and gained a distinction in the Judge’s marking. This not only put them first in thier class, but they also won the Danny Churchill Rotary Trophy for best Choir.
Caroline Moss, Head of music stated “I am so proud of the girls. They were daunted by the prospect of going into a competition at such an early stage in their development, and this success is testament to their commitment and dedication to the group.”
Congratulations must go to the girls for their energy, their drive and their determination to put the Music Department on the local map.
